Networks and Alliances

Networks provide an opportunity for sharing information between two groups. HEN presently has two networks: America’s Second Harvest and Community Food Security Coalition.

The mission of America's Second Harvest - the Nation's Food Bank Network (A2H) (http://www.secondharvest.org/) is to create a hunger-free America by distributing food and grocery products through a nationwide network of more than 200 member food banks, increasing awareness of domestic hunger, and advocating for policies that benefit America's hungry.

The Community Food Security Coalition (CFSC) (http://www.foodsecurity.org/) is dedicated to building strong, sustainable, local and regional food systems that ensure access to affordable, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food for all people at all times. CFSC has over 250 member organizations. The 8th Annual CFSC Conference is in Milwaukee, October 17-19.

For an organization to become a network of HEN, it is important that it be compatible with our mission, visions and goals. There must be at least one person willing to act as liaison between the potential network and HEN to work on developing the relationship and establishing network objectives and goals. We welcome any HEN member to help with our networks.
